The production was fine, and worth watching, but because there is a common expectation that the horses will eventually show up, the fact that they didn't was slightly distracting.

I once saw a student production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in Magdalen Deer Park in Oxford, with deer appearing between the trees at random intervals. Quite magical.
