Digital Cameras for the win!
I purchased esmeraldus's Sony Cybershot 7.2 recently, and I have been playing with it very happily. Now that I can delete anything that I don't like, I can just keep on taking pictures until I get one I like. Also - the instant gratification factor cannot be overstated - it is fab. I have rolls of film from last Christmas and who knows anymore what's on them. I certainly won't remember what I did to get a particular shot if it turns out I like it.
The other cool thing I have been playing with is Google's Picasa. Cropping, lightening, and smudging out evidence of my slovenly housekeeping. Whee! Here's an example:
Shot of William Gibson, taken with me standing on tippy-toe and my arm stretched way above my head:
( The original )
Cropped, lightened, and red-eye reduced:
( The final version )
Wah-la.
I must say - this camera makes even a picture of my shopping bag look pretty fabulous.
