Also: I don't have COVID-19 (or at least currently)

So we had my Dad's small celebration of life on Saturday. We are hoping to have a larger memorial when gatherings are permitted again - assuming this is soon enough that the people who would likely attend will still be alive. Aha.

Note to people with venues for funerals: people who attend funerals are old and deaf. Running the vaccuum outside the room during the speaking is cruel.

So I got ill with a flu on Saturday afternoon. That means, mask or not, I was lousy with contagion during the whole event. Yes, we wore masks, and we made a fuss about everyone in the event wearing masks, and there was handsanitizer everywhere, etc, but I hugged a couple people. and similar SBD infractions.

So I got tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday (was too ill to go out sooner - and I also completely failed to keep my Mother out of my house during that time).

Currently in BC, if the COVID-19 test is positive, someone contacts you within 48 hours to start grilling you about contacts. If the COVID-19 test is negative, no one contacts your directly. There are several ways to access information: sign-up for access to a personal medical test database; phone a dedicated phone service; sign up for a text notification. The access to all the test results looks intriguing, but you need a lock of hair from one of the test providers, so it is going to take a little effort to get that sorted out. I signed up for the text, and got it today.

Huzzah. I do not have the plague.

I have laundered my bed linens today, but if anybody really loved me they would provide me with a small nuclear device for my kitchen. Ugh. (I am keeping the girls fed and littered.)
