I wear the poppy without irony. I wear it for your Grandfather and Grand-Uncle who served before me, for the men and women I served with and for those who serve after me.

The Politicians, Governments, Corportations and Commodities can go hang. I wear it for my Comrades in Arms who didn't come back, or came back broken in myriad ways. I wear it for my Father, who died working to save someone's life (http://jessie-c.livejournal.com/123860.html). Today I'll go and stand in the rain for them, just because I can. Because they made it possible for me to be able to.
