Lucky Armadillo - Ursula Vernon

SQUEEEEEE!

I was the lucky bidder in an e-bay auction of the original of Urusla Vernon's Lucky Armadillo - and it arrived today!

SQUEEEEEE!

I took the image from the e-bay auction, but you can see it, and all her other neato-keen stuff here:

And, in fact, the following two are my favourites, even though it is very hard to choose:

Well, I've hunted and hunted, but I can't find the Lucky Armadillo image on her website, because she usually sells prints - and I always like to read what she has to say about the piece.  Oh, well.  This is now your excuse to spend lots of hours on her site, looking at all her good things - it's research!  :)

Thank you ever so much for giving me this drain on my time so late in the evening! My boss will thank you as well when he finds me asleep at my desk tomorrow...

My pleasure. :)

Ahhh! lucky you!

I wish she'd do some hamsters -- mice seem to be her rodents of choice.

YOu mean you haven't seen her Battle Hamsters of the North? :-)

YES! Thanks for the reminder! I had not seen the first one you sent me, but yes, I've seen the two which follow and had hoped to iconize the third one some day -- the doughty hamster wading through a claustrophobic swamp. :)

Neat, love it!

Thank you. :) Not hugging it to myself and giggling maniacally in any way.

Awww, that's just so cute.

A year and a bit ago I managed to get my paws on one of the limited (10 only) number prints she made of her first winged phalloi. It's only 2.5x3.5", but it's soooo cute. I haven't hung it up yet - for the sensibilities of daughter and her friends - but I think it's about time I got it up soon.

Oh, well done you!

I love Ursula's stuff. One day I shall follow your bold example :-)

(You do read her LJ too, yes? Her writing is almost as much fun as her pictures..)

Yes, read her LJ - that's how I found out about the auction. I've been pining for an original (that I could afford), but the little pieces she puts up periodically to the first speaker-upper usually appear long before I read LJ. This was an opportunity not to be missed! :)

Ah, that's lovely. I cherish Ursula's work. (Me, I ache and pine just for a print of her Klimt Vulture...)

Yes. I'm fond of her cartoon-based work, but her realism is amazing. Beautiful work.
