Star Gate Universe - pilot.
I watched the pilot yesterday afternoon.
It reminds me very much of the second Battlestar Galactica - refugees cut off from home, trapped in an aging vessel, and really cranky with each other because there is no way to go home - except that some people think that there might be, but they might be wrong. No, we don't have Cylons hiding in the population, but there are probably so many traitors/infiltrators, and mad meglomaniac geniuses with a vision of glory, and rigid pride-bound military chins on board that there won't be enough other people left to form a group for all the previous critters to be against.
There are some potentially interesting people, but Lou Diamond Phillips doesn't seem to be a regular. This is a negative from my point of view because I would watch LDP unwrap a candy bar and be rivetted by the consumate skill. Yes, okay, whatever, but I like to look at him and watch him do stuff.
I'm not quite sure what I think so far.
