Mom & Dad's house is for sale - and on youtube

It has been for sale for a while, but I hadn't taken time to go view the listing.  I knew that there was a video, but, you know, I had no idea it would make me nostalgic for the house before it is even sold.  Here's the link to the youtube video:

My Dad built that house - contracting things like concrete and the roof and serious electrical, plumbing, and gas.  But he framed it and did so much.  The pantry in the laundry room is a beautiful example of his work - as is the sauna downstairs.

It looks a little odd without the cats sprawled all over everything.  :)

Why it is for sale? It is such a memory, if it's proper to ask. Maybe it is possible to give house to rent for some relatives or acquaintances, or there is nobody interested?

It is okay to ask. The house has become too big for my parents to care for, and since it is located far from town in a sparsely populated area, they have been unsuccessful in hiring people to help. There isn't enough work to hire someone full time, and there isn't enough of the same kind of work in the area to let someone build up full-time employment so that it would be worth the cost of driving out to the area. It is best to sell before they cannot care for it and it becomes rundown.

They knew the day would have to come, but of course they would have like the day to be not yet. :)

I understand. Sorry to be the witness of this situation but life is going on...

Adding another link because there is a slightly different version by the film crew:

That's Ami the cat on the upper deck. :)
