Medical - is too much; let me sum up

So, for sure I have pulmonary hypertension in the right ventricle. I occasionally have heart failure (insufficient pumping). Water retension happens for these things. I have a nodule in my right lung (I get a CT scan tomorrow to see what it is doing). I am just in the zone for thrombocytopenia (which means that I don't make quite enough platelets in my blood). And the ongoing meds for the afib that was treated by cardioversion continue to keep my heart steady (mostly).

I have a CT scan follow up for the nodule tomorrow.

Next week I get the follow-up for the sleep study, and will probably start using a CPAP. I have been promised this will cure everything, including scrofula.[1]

This is not even thinking about the eyeball nor the knees. I have lost the plot on a number of everyday ongoing issues. Still taking antidepressants, for instance. Still think I should because the benchmark "do you have anything to look forward to" is still no.

I'm really glad I have the girls.

I'm sorry - that felt more upbeat when I typed it. I am actually very relieved to finally get answers with names. I have an irrational faith that heart issues have solutions, whereas lung issues never do, so bringing it all back to the heart means that it is probably not new, just more so of previous. I am peeved that I have to wear a gasmask to sleep, and I suspect the girls are going to make short work of the hose (I have an embryonic plan to use swim noodles to protect it).

Anyway - I am less frightened than I was. Thank you for your response; it helped me clarify that.

Welcome to the CPAP club, then...?

That would be a yes. Last night was the second night of sleeping with it on my own, so it is too soon to tell whether it is curing anything, however, I am pleased that I was able to introduce it into the bedroom with the least amount of destructive cat interest. The battery-pack has a velcro wrap that Maggie immediately started chewing on, so I wrapped that up in some paper medical tape, and that seems to have worked. I think I have found a place to hang the hose to dry, but the more time I spend looking at it, the more intrigued the girls will be. I'm still in the trial phase, so I have to get the bits back to the clinic in good shape (wish me luck).

It's much less traumatic than in a strange room in a strange bed with gunky stickers everywhere, I will say that.
