Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] ahruman  on twitter.

Organizers of the game launch of Texas Battlefield 3 have banned women from attending in order to protect the women from misogynistic comments.

Private party; people can do what they want; but geeze, guys.

They're welcome to stay at their "gentemen's event" as long as they wish. If they never come back the world will be a nicer place. Just keep on playing those video games, guys. It's not important that you meet girls and breed. In fact it's better if you don't, okay?

Guys who are genuinely afraid/neverous of girls tend not to make insulting remarks. Guys with their heads up their butts do still seem to find someone willing to breed with them - probably the indoctrinated daughters of the previous crop. The guys with asses for hats need to be legislated into growing up, 'cuz evidence continues to mount that they certainly won't do it on their own.

I'd love it if the developers found out about this and sent them a special patch just for their little party that changed everyone's characters to female, changed the weapons to flowers and made the plot a My Little Pony story.

Whilst this is deplorable, I feel the need to point out that it's not the game launch, it's an event that a place is having to capitalise on the game launch.

Also, the game's just called Battlefield 3, but the event's in Texas.

The organisers, however, remain wastes of carbon.

Whoops. So: wrong about the name, wrong about the event, but right about the asshattery. One out of three ain't bad. :)

Not only sexists but hypocritical sexists at that.

If they don't want girl-cooties on their party that's bad enough, but pretending they're doing it to protect the delicaye little girlies...faugh!

I hope there's a power failure.

I am on board with your curse. :) It is actually nicer than filling their bones with hot oil, a la Magret. :)

It seems appropriate to hope that they will be denied what they want to deprive others of...
