So.  We've been to Tappen and back.  We both had excellent travelling weather.  (We left together on Christmas Eve; SOGP came back on Boxing Day, and I came back yesterday.)  The weather has broken, and now there is snow falling further up the Fraser Valley, so our trip was in exactly the right window of time.  It was cold (to us: -10 C) and mostly clear while we were there.  Presents given were on the mark (whew), and presents received were excellent: silver bracelet, two shower curtains with a matching liquid soap dispenser, Up, Robot Chicken Season one (woo hoo!), and one adult ticket to Caravan Theatre's (http://www.caravanfarmtheatre.com/) Nativity Story.

I enjoyed the sleigh ride round about to the various vignettes of the Nativity Story.  I was more impressed by the fact that there were only five actors, and they sprinted from set to set, changing costumes on the fly, while we, the audience, were driven from set to set in horse-drawn hay wagons.  The horses are the pride of the farm and theatre - they have parts in every production, even when it is just to drag the wagons around.  There are clydesdales, percherons, and some smaller Norwegian draft horses.  Previously I have seen their production of MacBeth, which was amazing and proved the horses to be seasoned thespians, and I am sad that I missed their production of the Neblingblungbling - the daughters of the king came down the hill bare back on the horses.

Today I have been washing bed linens and blankets because it feels very productive and smells great - and doesn't require a lot of my attention or presence to look fairly impressive.  I have been playing FarmVille (I know, I *know*), and mooching around the internet.  I need to do some shopping for New Year's Day when we visit SOGP's mom - but phooey, I say.  I will be a late shopper on New Year's Eve, and take what I can get.  Yeah.  :)

Previously too busy to share: we took Sammie to the vet on Saturday 19 Dec 09, and he had gained 10.5 ounces - which on a 10 pound cat is pretty good.  So, now he is a 10 pound 10.5 ounce cat (at the height of his powers he was an 18 pound cat).  He had another blood test, and we got the results Tuesday 22 Dec 09, and all is copacetic - the thyroid levels are where they should be, and we can just carry on as we are for the time being.

Yay!
