I keep hearing about Netflix, so I thought I would give it a look.

I have searched the availability of the following items, which I would like to see:
Rowan & Martin's Laugh In - nope
Get Smart - nope
Dark Shadows - nope
Tank Girl - nope
Insignificance -nope
Midnight Special -nope
Jesus Christ Superstar - nope
SCTV - nope
Stargate Universe - nope

And I thought okay, let's try something that they surely must have, there are so many versions:
Romeo and Juliet - nope

All right, then, how about:
Galaxy Quest - nope

So - tell me again why I should throw away my collection of things I like to watch?

We have a monthly DVD rental thingy, which is jolly useful for US TV shows that we can't get on Freeview, but we still record stuff from the telly and if we want to watch something more than once we might buy the DVD. There's no reason why you have to choose only one option there.

But if Netflix doesn't have anything that appeals to you, there's no reason to give them your business of course.

But, I am severely bummed: there should have been at least *one* - just *one*.

I mean: c'mon Netflix, how hard can that be?

The additional bit was the the recommendations for things that were close to what I was looking for left me extremely cold - bleah.

Well, okay, Galaxy Quest brought up newish Dr. Who - but I can already see Dr. Who on the cable that I have to rent in order to get my internet broadband connection.

Just *one*. Drat.

Yes - you surely can't be the only person in Canada who wants to watch those things, can you? Especially given some of the obscure stuff and plain drivel that does make it into the DVD rental lists.

As for the recommendations, Lovefilm (our rental firm) once recommended that we rent The Constant Gardener. Why? Because we'd just watched The Curse of the Were Rabbit. Both to do with vegetables, right? :-)

Oh dearie me. :)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387131/
"A widower is determined to get to the bottom of a potentially explosive secret involving his wife's murder, big business, and corporate corruption."

I suppose the argument *could* be made that they both had intrigue and unscrupulous manipulators - but that is a mighty big stretch. :)

Whoever wrote that program didn't do very well, did they :-)
