So. I gave in and called my heart doctor to follow up on the results of the Holter Monitor test. It is as I suspected: I hadn't received a call because nothing scary was seen. I still have the occasional little flittery pitter patter, but the heart is mostly regular and correct speed. I no longer need to take the rivaroxaban (which thins the blood to prevent stroke), and I can resume my use of ibuprofen for my knees - *soooo* thankful for that. I may be able to put off buying my own walker, and unrent the one I've been using since the beginning of May - we'll see.
I still need to take the metaprolol, which is a heart-slowing medication. I take it morning and evening. This will probably be in perpetuity (FCVOP), but it is much more reasonably priced than the blood thinner. [1]
I am also allowed wine again, which is nice. I was drinking too much of it before, this is true, but some is now okay. I missed that.
But what I really really missed was the ibuprohen. Yes, I know it is way worse for a person than everything else, including beheading, but it is the only thing that works. I was using "acetaminophen arthritis", 1300 in the morning and 1300 in the evening, and hardy har har har. What a waste of money.
I think I may have mentioned that several cousins have had this issue, and the cardioversion, so this is no doubt now part of my reality. Considering my aunts' and uncles' reality: bypasses and stents; I'll take this gratefully.
[1] - The rivaroxaban is in place of the older (cheaper) warfarin, which side effects sound dreadful, and which also requires people to be blood-tested several times a week. Oh *hell* no.
