So. As reported previously, Mom broke her left shoulder in two places on 31 July 2022. Today makes eleven weeks since the break. She was warned at the beginning that it would be six to twelve weeks before she would begin to feel better. Ha ha ha.

Okay, yes, the first ten days were pretty painful for Mom, and her movements were very restricted. She needed to hire someone to help her bathe, and her neigbours really helped with cat pan sifting and cat feeding and loading dish washers and watering plants and whatnot. I helped too, but I was still sick, so not as much as others.

Two weeks in she had an appointment with the specialist, who took exrays, and said he was very happy with how things were healing. He saw a little nodule that would never bother anybody, but otherwise the parts were knitting beautifully. Mom asked him how soon she could safely return to normal, and he said that her "arm would tell her". So, she immediately ditched the sling and started pushing herself. She has been driving again since the end of August.

She has recently started physio, for which I am very grateful, because I know that since she is pushing herself, she is also probably getting accustomed to favouring more tender motions, so this should catch that.

I would just like to mention that Mom celebrated 85 this year, so there's that, too.
