Voles

Because I know you are desperate to know: I have determined that Suzi is catching voles. They are an indigenous to North America rodent, and not endangered in any way. There are several versions, and they like the tasty parts of plants that allow the plants to live, therefore they are a hazard of the blueberry and orchard industries. Hmm - I didn't notice any vineyard-specific "how to deal with yer voles" advice, so maybe they don't like grape vine roots?

Anyhoo. They are unlikely to be under or in a house, but they will gobble all your tulip bulbs.

Go Suzi!

(Well, I am grateful that I will be able to assuage my across-the-street neighbour's lack of enthusiasm for cats in her yard - I am sure that Suzi is leaving calling cards, because cats always do: I don't need to see it to know it. My neighbour has been unhappy that voles have been eating all her spring bulbs, so now I can tell her that Suzi has come to the rescue. Okay, yes, I don't expect that to cut any ice with people who don't have pets of any kind, but I can try.)
