Suzi and more gory details.

So. I don't do honored dependent very well. The first time Suzi brought me a mouse she caught in the house, I took it and froze it so that I could discard it with the compostables (rodents are compostable, right?). She was *aghast* that I took the whole mouse for myself and didn't share. Who brought up this greedy kitten?
And, as I've detailed, lately there have been rodent bits on the mat, usually every day - and again I just wastefully sweep them away. If cats did the "tsk" thing, she would be tsking.
There is a new twist. The backdoor and the front door are on the same side of the trailer, both leading onto the deck. At night I will close the front door (screen doors all around, so no bugs), and prop open the back door so that I can hear if one of the girls wants in at night (I sleep in that room in the big comfy chair). For a while Suzi was coming regularly at 3:30 am, ready for a snooze. Then one thing or another led to her not being heard, and heading out again. The longest she's been gone is 36 hours, and I bet she's not far away, she's just not coming if called. (And this is not like a cat how?)
Anyhoo. Last week there was a drive-by mousing. I heard her calling in the middle of the night, went to the front door[1] to let her in, and she was already gone. I didn't think much of it, but in the morning I saw that there was a whole mouse on the backdoor mat. I think she dropped by just long enough to leave me some nourishment, and then headed out again.
I have this vision in my head of her trotting up the step with the mouse, spitting it onto the mat, and shouting the feline equivalent of "PIZZA!" and not even slowing down.
[1] - I only let them in/out the front door because I have lived with cats all my life, and I am *not* going to chase from door to door because they want a change of scene. Noop.
