First Snow

It was chilly all day - probably not below freezing, but hovering around 2 or 3 celcius, and there was a wind blowing that probably sucked all the residual heat out of everything it touched. So now, as it snows, it is sticking. I thought you'd like to see pictures. :)
So, behold, we have snow.
Firstly, we have the roof of our wall, with its razor wire and its shoe. People fling things up on the wall and wire all the time. Just recently a lot of things were removed, including a bicycle tire in which a mouse lived, and a shovel. Why they left the shoe when they took everything else, I don't know.

And then we have the spot where I fling Bob's Red Mill 10-grain cereal for the house sparrows. You can see the birdy scat if you look closely. Also, you are seeing the dead Japanese red maple. We have an automatic sprinkler system that is turned off during the peak heat. There is a parkade underneath, so the soil is quite shallow. This tree was dead before we figured it out. We have been trying to save the sole remaining maple with buckets. We'll see.

And finally we have snowflakes, alley streetlight, and wires. Ain't it lovely?:

Since beginning to struggle with the photo arrangements, the snow has completely covered the shoe. You wanted to know this.
Now I can has photos. Woo.
