First crocus is bright gold.
Apr. 9th, 2018 12:23 pmToday is sunny. Makes everything better. :)
There has been much melting. We still have various heaps - the pile along the North side of the mobile from the snow that kept sliding off the roof, for instance. Still quite deep and impassable.
But the front is much more clear, and the great big triangular bed out front is almost free of snow. We planted some bulbs last fall, but it is obvious that people have been planting bulbs in there for a long time - there are green shoots out of the ground all over. In one corner, a yellow crocus has shot up and bloomed (it wasn't there yesterday), and a navy purple one beside it is up in bud.
The view from the windows is still full of snow because across the street, the ground slants upward and is in the shade of big trees pretty much all the time, so the snow there isn't budging much yet.
But: sunshine!
