Late August and early September is my favourite time of year.

It is still warm, but the sun goes behind things sooner and so the heat fades away in time for sleeping.  But the deep purple dusk goes on and on and on.  And evening swimming is wonderful.  But there is still light in the morning and light afer work, so that's very nice, indeed.  The young birds are doing well and make pleasant noises together in their little flocks at dusk.  The seagulls whine nonstop, but that's pretty much any time of year, so hey.  Just lovely all round.
