Every snow heap is shellacked

We are having a milder winter, with less snow and warmer temperatures, but it is weird.

Sometimes things fall as snow and turn into sleety-slush which dissipates, or is easy to shove away. And sometimes, like last night, it falls as sleety snow, and even though the temperature is currently plus 5 C, it has changed to a clearish slush consistencey and frozen. There is a small piece of snow that has fallen on the driveway and shattered and scattered.

There's kind of a glossy bad-cake-decor aesthetic going on in the fields and heaps.
