42C for most of the afternoon

It did pop up briefly a couple times to 43C, but it was mostly 42C.

It is currently 40C, and the sky has a slight haze, which means the heat will get sealed in for the night, and we'll start the day hotter earlier. Huzzah.

Argh. It is down to 78F here already. The low is supposed to be 60F, but I'll bet it gets a bit lower. We have a tiny breeze which is cooling the house off nicely. OTOH it is supposed to be around 100F every day for the forseeable future. A long hot slog. Still I'm thankful it isn't forecast to be 108F every day!!!

Still warm enough - especially if you are out working in the sun. Argh for that.
