Date: 2021-10-09 05:22 am (UTC)My Dad was utterly vigilant about his oral health for years and years because it was known to contribute to heart disease, and because he didn't want false teeth. Poor dental hygiene could not have been a factor for him, and the same is true for other "common risk factors".
But cold sores, stress, lousy sleep, and head injuries, oh yeah. The herpes simplex virus lurks and pounces for the rest of a person's life.
