You can go to 'edit post'. When the box of editing is open, set it to 'rich text', and then highlight the picture, then pick the little 'Insert/Edit Image' icon with the yellow background. It makes a window pop up, titled 'Image properties'. The window has two tabs. on the left is Image Info, which has fields for URL (which should be filled in already, with the URL of the pic you highlighted) Short Description and then! on the left! Width and Height! you can set the width - say, to 500 - and the height will automatically adjust to match.
Then you can click 'ok' and that should do it. It closes the window and the picture is in your post.
Thank you for this. It must be that I am using an old browser on an old machine - I do not find "rich text". The day will come (probably in January) when we will upgrade our system, so until then I will avoid messing with images. :)

Date: 2017-10-30 11:13 pm (UTC)If you go directly to https://agoodwinsmith.dreamwidth.org/file/1909.jpg you can see that it's 3072 X 2304 pixels. Try saving it at 1000 X 750 and see what it looks like when you post it.
