Rain

We are having an after dark thunder burst after a hot day. I like rain a lot, even when I am cold and it has been raining forever (don't like snow; that's different), but after a hot day, with the big drops hitting the pavement, and the gutters running and dripping, the sounds are so lovely.

Aaaaahhhhhhh.

Rain is usually good...
Does that mean that any fires in your area are damped down? Or does it just mean that there were more lightning strikes to start new fires?
We have had huge cumulus clouds here, very pretty and very scary.

It turns out that the rain was very local. I talked to my Mom today, who lives in town down in the valley, about 10 kilometers away, and they got no rain whatsoever. That means I think it did not reach the wildfire areas. There was a new lightning strike fire near Merritt today, so...

They've updated the fire map in BC, and I don't find it as informative as last year's version:
