TV is just weird.

I watched an episode of DaVinci's Inquest last night. This was made in Canada, in Vancouver, and has long since been cancelled. Last night it was on a channel originating in Minneappolis (I think). What was weird was the disconnect between the location and the events. It was unabashedly set in Vancouver with reference to particular areas of town, and recognizable shots of buildings - and there were more violent deaths in that one episode than Vancouver usually suffers in a several months. I think the producers were trying to be fresh by having it set in Vancouver, but it really being about Toronto's issues. What they make of it in Minneappolis I don't know.
Tonight I watched my second episode of Regenesis. I'd like to like it, but the pacing of the commercials gets me down. The first half hour is what I am accustomed to in terms of the ratio of content to noise. As the second half hour progresses, the content gets slimmer and the noise gets greater until I swear there is only a minute of show between the great wastes of commercials. If you're gonna bury me in that much sludge, it had better be funny. Not.
I prefer the Weather Network - it's all bald personalities. If they don't have my Anne Marie Sweeney on, I'm just not interested.
